Subject: Will Intel Kill USB 3.0?

Rock County, MN

Manufacturers are lining up to adopt and support the new, faster USB 3.0. Intel is not one of them. Instead, Wired.com reports that the company plans to offer "Light Peak", an even faster fiber optic technology with smaller connectors and more flexible cables. At its lowest speed, still 2.5x as fast as USB 3.0, Light Peak could transmit an entire Blu-Ray movie in under 30 seconds.
