I have a couple Linksys WAP54G access points doing this. They can be configured as a wireless repeater or a wireless client.
When setting them up, do that with the units in the same room, and a computer on each. That will allow you to adjust settings on both until you get the system working. Once they work in the same room, you can move the one to the other site.
