Near Richmond, IN | Yes, that's another thing that got me . When I bought the Dell it said it came with a free update to Win 7. I was busy for a while and didn't check to find out about it and there was no notification of updating it so I didn't look into it for a while. I just recently found out that the "free" update had an expiration date and it had already passed. I wrote to Dell complaining that I was never notified of how or when to update and they didn't seem to care. I guess I'm at a loss at how I was supposed to update without having any knowledge of what to do. I just found that information on their web site after doing a search for some things. I'll have to check into the XP running on a 32 bit machine but I was thinking that you could do it with a format of the hard disk--I might be wrong though. | |
