I use it to access remotely my desktop at mork.  The client is free, the server is expensive.  The pluggin for Firefox is thin, but you wouldnt ever use it unless you need access to remotely served desktops.

 If you haven't used logmein - give it a whirl, it's a lot of fun, and works well provided you have the bandwidth.
