Not exactly what you are looking for, but related.
Many devices that use PCMCIA cards will also take a compact flash card slid into a CF to PCMCIA adapter. I know for example this works for Greenstar 1 devices. This makes it a ton easier to find new cards and readers.
Need external card reader for PCMCIA card.
