If you're like most of the cornbelt, go with mounted baskets so you can still have corners. We ran a 726 JD for years and was generally pretty happy with them. CIH doesnt make a finisher anymore, they used to (believe it was a 4900?).

We went with a Krause TL-6200, the Deere 2310 just didn't impress us all that much. Some parts we're built heavier but alot of things still lacked improvement in our opinion. I'v heard ridging problems with the 2310's is an issue as well.
