Look on the back of the TV you want to output to. Hopefully you'll see a vga input along with a S-video - used for camcorders, cable tv threaded connector, and maybe a HDMI. Audio input may be earphone  jacks RCA type connectors, etc. You will need 2 cords: vga and an audio cord with the right fittings.

If it has a HDMI simply buy the very newest notebook computer with a HDMI connector as it has both the video and audio on it

A HDMI notebook will likely have HDCP compliance as well not needed in computers but you are plugging into a HDTV...
