Subject: Re: Replace hard drive with a SSD ??

IIRC it took me about 2 hours to clone and transfer the image to a new drive after installing the new drive as a slave. It was faster than I thought it would be. Be aware I am going from memory, but I had an Acronis CD, and believe I had to "boot" off the CD. It booted into the Acronis program and I followed the steps from there. I assume things were much faster since there was little overhead running in the background during the process. The bottom line for me would be, no matter how long it took, it was well worth it because it worked so well. Usually in doing something like this, you would expect some glitches somewhere, but it was like expanding the size of the old drive and zero glitches.

Edited to add: My old drive was only 40G and the new one was 150G.
