Today the phone coop abandoned our old copper wire phone line and replaced our Wild Blue satellite Internet with what they call "fixed wireless".
We were the last customer on that 6 mile copper wire line and they said it is in bad condition.
Phone works good and Internet is much faster.
A speed check of Wild blue showed 551 download speed and 81 upload.
New fixes wireless DSL shows 956 download and 481 upload.
They claim it will be much more reliable than WB and always much faster.
Just a small antenna pointing at a tower 10 miles west of our farm.
Is that the tower on the east side of #14?Is that also for Cellular service?
Oh yea. almost forgot, what's that costing you Internet service?
Yep, the tower about 3 miles north of Denhoff. The fixed wireless DSL is the same price as wild blue, $35 per month. The tower carries wireless Internet and wireless telephone, don't know about cellular service.
The future has arrived, today we are 100% wireless. LOL.
