I don't know a thing about keeping black walnuts.................but did see an ad in a farm paper last week urging everyone to get busy and pick up all the black walnuts they could find, as a buyer was paying the princely sum of $8/cwt for hulled nuts. Now, I'm sorry, but $8/cwt isn't enough for what it takes to hull those things out.



Around here that's a shell-on price -we dry our reg. walnuts with the shells on.
We find that nuts-shell no or off, Garlic, dried Fruit make wonderful packing for Xmas gifts we send back East.
some enjoy the packing more than the gift...
