We use those in our house. A few on the main floor and several in the basement. We have had success with them. Can't tell you if they will work for rats. We have a corn furnace and noticed an increased mouse situation when we started using that furnace even though we have always kept poison out in the basemant, sheds and barn. We also have cats that are good mousers.
