| I would say not a good idea, as you need a computer running. If the
computer crashes you lose your connection.
There are many that work with the phone system. Friend has one that
seems to work very good, but don't remember the make. Will phone more
that one number on temperature or power and maybe more. You can also
call it and get information.
Don't think it was that costly, maybe less that $200. I think he
later found same unit at Home hardware. I can get the make if
