Good on ya steigerpower. I did this to a clock radio I had years ago....scraped off some coating and soldered a wire to the traces over the cracked circuit board. I work in electronics, and this is a normal way of modifying a circuit board if there is not too much requiring modification. Usually a trace is missed in manufacture, or an additional feature can be "turned on" by soldering in a wire. Almost impossible to do though with newer, multi-layer circuit boards.
