Yes your right, the opening on the 8010 is wider, other obvious difference is the feeder length. Chain is a whole different beast also. Actually, now that I think about it the outside width is wider also, they just put the 8010 style adapter on the front of the old 21,23 and 2588 feederhouse. 46" vs. 54"
