| Sounds like your SMTP (or outgoing) settings are incorrect when you setup your email account in Outlook 2007.
You probably do need to check with your ISP, if they are providing your email, to get the proper information to fill out this info.
The first three screens of this tutorial will show you how to check your SMTP setting but don't follow the whole thing! It is for a school's email.
Down to about step 13 should be good.
