| Starting to become more involved in the family farm now that Dad is getting up there and have some questions. We’ve decided to put beans out yet again on ground that had beans last year. Due to weather and other issues, we didn’t get a chance to work ground in the fall(heavy clay). Now that planting season is coming around, we have a buildup of bean residue that has accumulated around places where water laid after rain. Dad wants to no-till this year due to the cost in fuel to cultivate, but I have reservations about how much residue is laying and how thick it is. Is it better to run a cultivator through once over to break this up/spread it out or just run the seed drill through it? | |
