Subject: RE: Hay rotation plan

I don't know of anyone that grows red clover here in Wyoming. The elevation of Riverton is about 5000 ft, so I don't know if it would grow here. I do plan on killing the field I want to replant this fall, and then plow it next spring. According to my agronomist the beets and turnups would be good for my soil, and it would give me some forage for the cows in the fall. The one problem I have with this field is that the water table is pretty high, and it drowns out the alfalfa. I did try that branch root alfalfa, but it didn't last any long than the regular alfalfa. I don't think it was worth the extra cost.
