There is a lot to be said on the benefits of using stainless steel body panels. One big disadvantage is trying to stamp panels to the curvy shapes we've become accustomed to will break the dies. That leaves us with straight panels and that's why the pickup looks so different. 
The vehicle isn't all SS though. Alloy giga-castings at front and rear provide a foundation for the traditional stamped metal frames that the straight panels and doors are attached to.
