From what I heard from some old guys many years back, our area had them once. They were eradicated. For good reason. For reasons I'll never be clear on, there's been a push for 20 or 30 years to bring them back. Had a neighbor plant some in our CRP a few years ago, he was pretty proud of himself for doing so. I told him he'd never get to see or shoot one by the next hunting season. He thought I meant because they wouldn't survive, and he was right, they won't survive on our place. Guaranteed.

I thought deer were about the worst thing we'd deal with for crop damage. Not even close. Give a teenage boy a bottle of whiskey and the keys to a bulldozer. Similar results. They probably don't do as much damage as wild hogs, but I'm thinking its close sometimes. Hate em.
