Faunsdale, AL | They’re rephasing cylinders. The sizes cascade downward from 1st “master” to last “slave”.
Size difference is necessary because the rod takes up volume on that side of the piston compared to the other side with no rod. So for oil from one cylinder to fully extend the next one, the slave has to be a little smaller.
Then there’s the bypass that allows them to bleed air/oil through when at max extension. This gets rid of trapped air and resynchronizes the lifting of the cylinders on the machine.
If you can’t have them repaired, buy exact size (bore, stroke AND rod diameter) replacement REPHASING cylinders. Regular cylinders without the bypass built in will keep system from working properly!
