nc ks | I am just spitballing here, but low land prices, lack of competition as few people want to stick around, already large farms that the ecomomy of scale helps out (it is real if managed well although not NAT approved), and bumper crops. Lol. Idk.
I think peterbilt, timpte, and wilson get 50% of their revenue from the dakotas. I don't understand it, but it seems to be real.
I don't really follow your premise that his area farmers are in better shape. All farmers should be in good shape. It's not bad in KS and it was basically all crop insurance in 23. I can't even imagine how good it is in the I states that pulled out a record crop once again. Not disparaging, kudos actually. Just don't spend it all in one place. I think the lack of new sales might be prudent money management in uncertain times. It just doesn't feel right to stick your kneck out too far in times like these. And everyone knows when that special piece of land comes up, interest is a lot higher.
