western iowa,by Denison | lots of feeders getting returned as feeeders-head counts will be higher as they have some feeders going thru 3 times-adds to more check off dollars and false numbers-lot of put together calves-coming to local salebarns as one group-10-20 head lots being bought then put together as 80-100 head groups,sorted for color etc,then going to the next feeder that upgrades them etc as 100 head of green gaining calves-going to grass etc. at 600-800lb grazers
Lot of sickness around in my aera of new calves from salebarns-when you buy ranch calves you sometimes avoid the 3 times cattle
we are at 2 dead on 1600 new calves so far
Lots of feeders I have talked to are doing the same as Hick-there is not many farmer feeders left this year-market will probably stay good for a while
we are 30% sold on next Dec cattle | |
