All we heard from late November to the middle of January was how with corn so cheap the Brazilian farmer would never plant it. Now they are at or near record pace planting corn.


I have this impression..........and wouldn't be surprised at all if I'm wrong.............that the average Brazilian farmer is like 100k acres?? If it is the land of big business and basically corporate style farming, I'd say they have a lot of leverage on the market and will plant no matter the price at the CBOT. Kind of like Seaboard, they don't jump in and out of raising hogs because the price fluctuates. But again, perhaps I'm wrong.
