I do not grow and grains but a do grow lots of fruit and veg.The price in actual dollars(say 2000 year dollars) we are or have been receiving on the wholesale market are the lowest ever. The factors being ,,too few in control of buying,,and our government taking it all in from whatever country wants to,,basically free.Chinese food on the shelves should tell all that. You are likely selling grains for way way less than you ever have now. Then paying for inputs ,,electricity, parts, insurance, labor, comp, at a far greater cost also...El sucko at the current economic reality.

Same story played out in the tobacco business, flat cash prices for 40 years eroded by inflation and input costs, imports destroying demand, etc etc etc.

Hence the disappearance of the crop. For some reason people on this board think they are entitled to continue growing the same thing they always have, and make a profit.
