I don't know a thing about keeping black walnuts.................but did see an ad in a farm paper last week urging everyone to get busy and pick up all the black walnuts they could find, as a buyer was paying the princely sum of $8/cwt for hulled nuts. Now, I'm sorry, but $8/cwt isn't enough for what it takes to hull those things out.
Here in PA, they pay that for hull on nuts.
We see pickup loads rounded off headed somewhere.
I'm still thinking it's a lot of back breaking bending over work for $8.00.
