Subject: RE: Case magnums

Tuscola, IL
The smaller frame magnums are good tractors but, they aren’t ‘real’ Magnums. They basically created the name because the MXM (which would become the Puma) got such a bad reputation in the US when Case IH and New Holland merged and the MXM was a red painted version of whatever nonsensical name new holland had at the time. They rebranded the Puma as a Magnum because the Magnum has such a loyal following. They kept the Puma line as well and have made several changes to the mini magnums over the years to separate them from the Puma. The mini magnum has the magnum cab instead of the Puma cab even though now I believe the cabs are very similar. The ‘real’ magnums would be 235 250 260 280 290 and everything above 300 hp. Mini magnums would be 180 190 200 210 220 225 240.
