NE Iowa | Don’t feel too bad Steiger, people seem really quick to take offense these days. You just asked a question and it apparently rubbed some the wrong way. Wrong or right, I skipped church tonight. I used to lead the music at church so I just went and missed some of the game. Not really a big deal.
The biggest thing in going to church to me is going with the right heart. If you are at church and are totally consumed with wanting to be watching football I doubt you are really honoring God with your presence. I know of a pastor that keeps track of weekly attendance. He is pretty proud of his numbers and doesn’t really seem to care too much about the condition of the hearts of his congregation. Showing up at church physically and not mentally is not wise.
