Cherokee County, Northwest Iowa | I'm 65, was in business for 10 years, came back to family farm for 30 years, enjoyed it all, but after a few minor health problems which have been taken care of, and reading one too many obituaries about classmates from college, had my last harvest last fall. No family members to carry on. Tired of working by myself. Even visited with my friend the auctioneer this afternoon, and have a plan. Family joke is that the wife has a list started of farmers who ask her at work "Do you think Bruce could help me next spring and/or fall in the field?". No regrets yet, and don't really plan on having any, either. Also wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year. Bruce. |
