| Back in the 70s' I worked at a skelly truck stop in the se corner of i35 and i70...salina ks. Some of you may have been there..
4 islands..one for gas...usually car traffic...Truck drivers pull up to the pumps and go into the restraunt. It was understood
us nozzle jockeys were allowed to move up the trucks after fueling. A trailer hauler comes in..pulls up to the gas pumps..I
fueled him up and since he was blocking the lanes for cars ,, I jumped in and started to pull it up..I think it was a morgan
trailways...pulling a single wide 50 footer..Anyway, I hadn't moved it 5 feet when this dude comes screaming out of the
restraunt...yells at me to stop, which I did..Makes a big to do about touching his truck..etc..Jumps in his truck and pedal
to the metal up a couple hundred feet and parks it..Hits the price sign on the lightpole with the trailer on the way up.
Goes into the station and start yelling at the boss..Boss tells him I am a responsible person and he was blocking the
pumps...Tells him to pay his bill and get the hell out!! | |
