You are in a warmer climate but nonetheless you should add quite a bit more insulation if it’s that thin. Insulation is cheap and you can rent the blower cheap also. It’s a dirty job but worth it. As others said- check your soffit and make sure the vents can pass air through the eves. Not all soffits are continuous vents- mine are few and far between and my previous house was every other truss cavity.
