New Mexico is proposing to allow built another racetrack/casino and our local larger town is all hot to trot wanting to have it built. Proposed site is about 10 miles from our house.

Nothing but a blight on society, a scam of selling false hopes that takes advantage of people with poor self control.

I understand you can't legislate morality, and people want to gamble. But how these casinos are good for our communities I have no idea. It is a double standard that if I build a casino I go to jail, because they are a "vice". But if the state wants to license and tax them, it is all rainbows and sunbeams.
