How much money do you want to spend on equipment?  Equipment to make compost is EXPENSIVE!  You can go the cheap route and just turn it with a front end loader and your results will show it.  Is there a market for organic compost in your area that could offset the expense of equipment?  I compost around 10,000 yds of material a year.  2 parts wood to 1 part manure.  Sell it all cause I buy all my feed.  Been composting for almost 20 years lots of tricks that can cheapen and speed the process up.
