Kind of hard to come out ahead when corn is selling for less than the cost of production. Chopping for silage is a different story, but OP mentioned bailing stock so I don't think he's doing that. I know of several dairies this year that took cash crop corn out of their rotation and replaced it with forage crops so the land would be profitable ( they're still chopping corn silage)

I know one guy that has over 3000 acres corn on corn for the last 20 years ( all land in corn production). Not many guys have higher yields, but then again not many guys are willing to fertilize that much to get the yields he does. No cattle on his operation
