Sure!

Corn per acre:

Seed 30K - $68
NH3 170# - $42
Dry 12-60-60 - $45
Chemical (at cost) - $31
Spraying - $2
NH3 App - $3
Planting - $5
Combine - $15
Truck - $8
Insure - $15
Interest - $7
Term Machinery - $22

Total At Cost - $263
Land Payments -$143

Total - $396
Yield - 180
Per - $2.20

Seed is Pioneer 1197, 1555, Myco 788, 789, and Champion and Robinson hybrid, they all come to average about $180, little more for Pioneer, little less for the Indies. The machinery listings are variable expense average, fuel and repairs. Our machinery is paid for 10 and 20 series tractors, a 16 row box fill, and 10yr old 16/31 CCS. We owe on a 8360r and an S670. Going to get rid of the 8360 and get something we own. Those two are under machinery term. Sprayer is a separate business and I make money on it and pay for facilities and living with it. We do not app Dry, but do everything else. I have half of my NH3 in tank at $360 per ton. Think I can average $400 for the upcoming year.

Land is renting for $130-230 here depending on quality. Mine is pretty average. This is somewhat dependent on cattle. I subtract our cattle earnings off of the payment to arrive at the $143. We own pasture and crop and the cow herd; no payment on cattle. Assume $1.40 feeder prices for 550#.

Soybeans per acre:

Seed 140K Dicamba - $52
Treatment - $12
Dry 12-60-60 - $45
Chemical (at cost) - $38
Spraying - $2
Planting - $5
Combine - $15
Truck - $3
Insure - $10
Interest - $7
Term Machinery - $22

Total Cost - $211
Land Payments - $143

Total - $354
Yield - 60
Per - $5.90

How do you break down your planting/combine/truck/spray/NH3 app with term machinery? Do you figure flat fee and take that out of your term cost or is that figure your costs including paying yourself and maintenance? Don't see fuel so probably the 2nd way? Impressive cost breakdown. Hardest part of figure up apple to apple costs is how guys break down their overhead. I do some custom planting so I charge myself the same fee as neighbors, but over all acres that covers my term payments and fuel plus I am making a little. Your interest is better than mine but I pull out some working capital to invest in market elsewhere.

Also, you're either not getting much dry fert on or you skipped the app cost. That's not going to change your B/E much.
