I, and I suspect a huge percentage of people reading/posting here, pay cash rent with many digits to people who inherited the dirt (or one case I've got who is actually a really good guy, paid $1 for his land from his dad) - and while I don't begrudge any of them for taking fair market value, I know full well that is where a high percentage of guberment subsidies end up.  Those monies don't end up in the hands of a hungry kid who really wants to farm and is willing to work to the bones.
