southern MN | Apparently we had a 40mph gust go through with the 2.4" of rain on Sunday, and a lot of our corn leaned over. Of course, the short yellow junk didn't, but the few good areas with tall green corn caught that much more wind, and they have a poor root system.
So, there will be some goosenecking already.
The summer that keeps on giving.
I appreciate the reports from the better than average parts of the state, I have not made it north this year, so I have not seen any good corn.
The inch or so we are forecast to get on the 4th will be a double whammy, mess up out gathering on the 4th and yet more rain for the crops to suffer. Perhaps they will get one, just one, wrong this year?
Oh, heck, they backed the forcast down to .4. Going the right direction!
