I have had H2O wireless for over 5 years now. They use the ATT network . My yearly pay as you go cost is $40 for simple texting and calling. The only requirement is to put in $10 every three months to keep active. They offer phones too......... https://www.h2owirelessnow.com/mainControl.php?page=index . An alternative is to use Ooma(VOIP) which is like a land line and is ~$5/month.
