The website shows the rustic roads that are great for trips like this, where you don't have people breathing down your neck to go faster. There is one in Dunn County just west of Menomonie the locals call Paradise Valley Road, it runs along the Red Cedar River and there is a neat little park called Devils Punch Bowl along the way. The ones in eastern St. Croix County outside of Glenwood City are pretty nice too. I see Buffalo & Pepin don't have any designated as such, but try anything on the west side nearest to the Misssisippi River and you will find some winding roads. Now yesterday I was reminding my why I drive an all wheel drive SUV rather than a convertible or something sportier. Darn GPS took me off on some fire lanes that more closely resembled goat paths; I wouldn't recommend those. | |
