Done exactly that and the first time.....best steaks ever. 2nd and 3rd time and 4th time.....couldn't get heat to stay up high enough. Bought a blower thing to go on it to fan the coals to make it heat up. This last time got it to 600 degrees. Put steaks on and never got above 300 again once I closed the lid. It's gone so I'm done with that. Was too small to cook much on anyway. I get that people love them. I'm sure it's me but it just didn't work out for me.
