Pretty tough ground out there. Rock country I do believe. Lots of sloughs. Most of that ground should have never came out of CRP.


Lots of people make a living farming land like this, if managed correctly. Keep your overhead down and spend the money where it will make you money.

This land looks pretty typical for that area, the sloughs and saline areas have grown every year since '93.



OK, if the sloughs and saline areas grow every year, that's no good, couldn't they still make money with more hay and cattle? There are similar problems around here, due to way too much marginal ground being used for crop production.
