If you saw some of our ground you would disagree. Combine ruts for a half mile, from one end to the other in our wheat ground. Then got scratched one time with a 30' cultivator behind our 4wd because it's the only thing that had remotely enough flotation to stay on top half the time. It's going to take 2-3 years just to get these fields leveled back out again. They're going to be such a swamp in the spring I honestly don't know if we'll be able to get across a few of them. 300 acres of corn stubble that never got worked, and up here that is a HUGE deal of whether or not you get in the field in the spring.
If you've never had the opportunity, burn the stalks off in the spring. You might have a fighting chance then. Good luck. |
