NE ND | I'm saying I'll go back to wheat because we can get it off early, get the scraper across it, and get it worked and in perfect shape for beets the next year. Right now we're pretty set on where we have to put beets because our wheat acres are so close to beet acres, but I like having the option to move fields around depending on how the spring melt comes. I would much rather grow wheat at break even than grow corn for a small profit on paper.
Corn takes so much more storage, and drying is always an uncertainty. Wheat is fairly stable in that sense most years.
