Because they won't be able to go to the lake if they have to make a 2nd post pass. We've been getting along pretty good with only 1 post pass so far. I'm sure the day is coming when we'll have to make 2 though. Have a neighbor that only makes 1 pass total on his beans, no burndown on most of it then comes in with flexstar once they are up....it shows on most of his fields.
IMO, farmers that are cheap on burn down and residual post twice. They also don't understand that depreciation, property tax, repairs and labor is usually a $5-$7 an acre deal per trip. Otherwise, they would be doing a better job spraying burn down and a residual ahead of the planter. Also, paying $10-12 an acre to just spray dicamba in a solo pass is beyond foolish.
