I am all for electronics if they make them reliable.
When Gleaner debuted electro-hydraulics, they definitely had issues. Once they got to the 2 series, they had it solved. I cannot recall the last time we even touched the electro-hydraulics on a L2 or L3. So basically someone with an early L would cuss the system and want levers back, and someone with a L2 or L3 would love the productivity and comfort enhancement and not see why anyone would want anything else.
Back then, things improved with time. Nowadays, its backwards, and the bean counters are likely to blame. So if the electronics are going down in reliability, then you cannot blame someone from wanting manual control again to try to gain back productivity. The desire is for maximum productivity, its up to how robust each system is to determine what route the customer will take. | |
