When I came back to the farm I rented a bunch of ground, some of it was fairly marginal, some of it a ways down the road.
I certainly farmed more acres, I certainly did not make any more money.
I soon came to realize the I would be better off improving what I have rather than farm more.
Lime, fertility, tile, and a big expansion of our irrigation system has allowed us greatly diversify the number of crops that we grow.
We currently farm 25% less acres, and are better off.
