Hope it works ok, my cattle drink more water than that, but much lower humidity here. I have had pairs drink 50 gallon a day for a month straight. I know that is more than nrcs figures, but that is my experience.

Most solar pumps for stock watering being put in around here, are using
Heicial rotor pumps. Heical rotor pumps are constant displacement & will pump slowly in low light conditions (cloudy, early morning, late afternoon ).
Sun rotor sr12 (12gpm) or grundfos (6 or 12 gpm) They cost more, but don't have to pull out of well and replace diaphragms.

Sun rotor (different company than sun pump) is cheaper, pump is field rebuildable, but will not fit in 4" well. Sunrotor sr16 will fit in 4" well, but pump is like a normal ac pump. Would work ok in shallower wells.

Grundfos pumps will fit easily in a 4" casing. Od may be slightly under 3"
They can be ran directly off a generator. All electronics are in bottom of well.

My first solar pump is a loranze. Water level 200 ft. Bought a converter to run it off a generator. Never used it after getting solar panels installed. With 100+ pairs drinking on it, never saw the 30 ft tank not full in the middle of the afternoon. This is half hour from home and don't want cattle out of water, if imly check twice a week. Don't kniw of any koranze pumps recently installed around here. I bought it online much cheaper than the grundfos i could only get from a well driller. Niw ysing sunrotor pumps.

I would only consider a diaphram pump in a well shallow enough to be easily pulled by hand. (Possibly 50 ft)
