SW Wisconsin | Syria is starting to become very interesting. Turkey, humiliated, provoked and overrun with refugees and suicide bombings, is on the verge of going to war. Saudi Arabia is sending fighter planes and possibly troops. Russia has changed the game significantly in Assad's favor and desires it to be a Russian protectorate. The Kurd's are becoming more empowered and the Iranians now have fresh source of courage and money, thanks to the U.S. Throw in ISIS and a half dozen other players and this mess is bound to boil over into a bigger conflict sooner than later.
This turmoil is taking place on top of %55 of the proven oil reserves in the world. Consider the incentive the waring powers have to get the oil price higher. They are going broke quickly at these prices. If that happens grain will get a boost.
Otherwise, it appears that weather will be the big potential mover for our grain markets. Perhaps a year or more of these low prices will drive the acres down. FSA is paying $170/acre around these parts. That is tempting bait unless they sequester the payments.
