southern MN | The Hefty brothers - some like then done don't, whatever - are working on that the past year or two. They seem pretty excited about the possibilities. They are working with a planter that can switch beans on the fly.
I can See the merits of it, with my variable soils and peat and high ph.
I'd be concerned about harvest, beans get mature at such different times and moisture at harvest is so critical any more, would one have to chase after the same spots with the combine on seperate days too....
But I can't see it paying off by running a second rig and doing all the turn arounds and such. Seems more labor and compaction and all that one would get from it? Could make a good experiment if one has the equipment and bit of time.
