Central NE | Corn sure seems to be disappearing very very slowly "Here" Elevators full, normal yearly piles still on the ground and tarped, extra bumper crop overflow uncovered piles are only half picked up still with lots of stinky corn around the edges/peak. Two Verasun elthanol plants in the area still not running.
I am wondering with such a carry on the board, when farmers price their grain at the elevators here, if the elevators are hedging in Dec or even next march and just plan to store until then and let the carry pay them some storage $.
This is only speculative, but it makes me wonder if there won't be a lot of corn still sitting here next harvest. 1.7 billion bushels will have to set somewhere and it won't be in Indiana/Ohio.
