Central Nebraska
My guess in this neighborhood is 10%. Many farmers have the Coop apply all the fertilizer and while they do a fair amount of VRN, it is mostly for P, K & S not N. I'm a big fan of variable rate N. We test soil nitrate every year for a base amount per field and then vary it based on population and yield potential. The great areas get more N to kick out more yield. The bad areas will never use that much N and it is wasted.
